TENSILE STRENGTH

What I’ve learned
            (after my share of affairs)
is that I need a forceful mate
            and strong men can’t give.
The alloys are all wrong.

Success and sympathy
            are never forged
            into the same tool.
Only the soft ones
            can be pushed,
            know how to mold
            their shape to yours.

The dichotomy is alarming!
            It means I never find
            the
            one.
